Founded in 1979, Hearing Loss Association of America is a volunteer organization of people who are hard of hearing and people who care about them. It has become an international organization with over 270 chapters and groups throughout the United States and members in many other countries.

Hearing Loss Association of America is devoted to the welfare and interests of those with any degree of hearing loss who are committed to participating in the hearing world.

Hearing Loss Association of America believes that little progress can be made until those who can hear well and those with a hearing loss can better understand the nature, causes, complications and steps that can be taken to improve communication.

"Blessed are the flexible for they shall not get bent out of shape."
